The Sottile TheatreThe Sottile Theatre Average User Rating: (0 votes, add your vote or comments) Formerly the Gloria Theatre, the present day Sottile Theatre was built in the 1920’s and for many years provided Charleston audiences with an entertainment venue for films and vaudeville productions. The College of Charleston bought the theatre in 1976 and in 1986 began renovating it for college and community use. The Sottile Theatre hosts a wide variety of performing arts and arts organizations including the Spoleto Festival USA, Charleston Ballet Theatre, the Charleston Symphony, and many more.
